Buncombe County Primaries & Unaffiliated Voters

According to information posted on the Buncombe County Board of Elections website, ‘Voters registered as “unaffiliated” may vote in either the Republican or Democratic primary.’

Do sample ballets refute this statement? Unaffiliated ballots are significantly limited to Court of Appeals Judges.

Perhaps unaffiliated voters may choose one of three ballots, or perhaps they may not, but the Buncombe County BOE website is unclear about this.

Those voters who are registered as unaffiliated may need to change their registration in order to vote in either the Democratic or Republican primaries, though whether this change is necessary or not is also unclear.

This primary is incredibly important for both local and global reasons; don’t get shut out.

Perhaps unaffiliated voters can change registration if necessary at the day they go to vote?

To clarify this problem, call the BOE at 828/250-4200.
