As if a happy face legitimizes the Olympics

In consideration of class

I thought I’d post this photo, not because I think that China’s human rights record is necessarily more wretched than that of the US, an interesting notion considering the genocidal justifications upon which this country is established, but simply because the Olympics has (yes, it’s a singular monster) become so corporatized, and thus, commercialized, a nice word for prostituted, in the name of obsolete national pride, e.g. nonsense mythologizing, truly a product of misplaced fervor and priorities.
